1by1: Bigview does not show Artist

This is such a great program.....Thanks for all the hard work and for keeping it clean.

Bigview can be configured in lots of nice ways, but the one thats missing is "Artist"? Am I just missing something simple? There are heaps of other display items available, but not this.
The problem for me is whan i use random play (f3), some folders are so deep that I cant read the path, and the album cover does not state the band name.

Can this be included in a future release please?

Artist is supported in Big View.
But it has to be tagged.
1by1 cannot read anything from a picture but it can show the cover if configured correctly. Also it can show the filename and some tags - if available.

All my mp3s are tagged. Te list of displayed items (in Big file text field configuration) does not include Artist, it has a for Album, b for Bitrate, c for Comment, d for Date etc etc . It does not list anything for Artist. What am i missing?

AFAIK artist is displayed by default. I'm not at my PC at the moment but will check later. Are your files tagged in 1.1 or 2.x style?

Big Title shows artist, title and comment of ID3 v1 and v2. If you click the "?" button, you'll see an explanation text. Indeed, artist and title are always shown together in "artist - title" format. To display it, add a blank character in the info pattern string.

Thanks guys. Since you told me it SHOULD work, I looked harder. I tried a fresh install with default settings and there it was. So, the problem for me was my settings (ini file). In the Big View menu I had turned off Content->ID3/Plugin titles. I had done it because under "?" you can select all the info patterns you want (EXCEPT Artist, why is that?? my original question), so I did not see its point. I see it now!

So this main part of the problem is solved. Thanks for your help, your comments made me dig deeper. I appreciate it.

I still don't see why under "?" there is no option for artist? But its a more minor point now...because at least its working.

"Any other char or space: track name by file, ID3, plugin or Cue sheet" means exactly this. The track name will be either the file name or, if present, the artist - title combination from the ID3 fields.

Yes, showing the artist separated is not possible at this time. May be it can simply be added to the pattern letters in the next version.
