Sorting order in playlist

Hi,

what am I missing ?

I try to use playlists to avoid double-storage of files. If I have a sampler, all titles are stored in the section 'alphabetical order' and the 'idea' of the sampler is restored in a playlist. I do store the titles in the original order of the sampler - either by appending in that order or by simple editing.

If I play this playlist, there is either alphabetical ascending or descending order - I think I did already have the order 'as given in m3u-file' which can be neither ascending nor descending, but following musical aspects.

What am I missing to get right that ?

You must click (list order) - then you see (+). 1by1 will memorize this separately for play- and filelist..

thanks for you answer - which I do not understand.

Yes, I know, by clicking +/- I can switch between ascending/descending sorting order mode - but I want something different:

Imagine a Sampler with artists in following order:
(for reasons of musical intentions)

Wagner
Haydn
Beethoven
Mozart
Bach
Schubert.

If I define the Playlist IN THIS ORDER (in the AScII-file .m3u
then it can be sorted in two ways

ascending_____descending

Bach_________ Wagner
Beethoven_____Schubert
Haydn_________Mozart
Mozart________Haydn
Schubert______Beethoven
Wagner_______Bach

but I really do want to have the original sorting order
as given in the ASCII-m3u-file !

But this option would really be worth a button in the main menu bar because normally I do not have the column (list order) visible so that I have to scroll to the right.

Or is it already there and it's just me who does not check ?

If not, maybe Version 1.77 ...

This option is really important - did you mention any playlist for radio or so - you could not live without this option providing an intellectual sorting order rather than an alphabetical ...
